AI Disclaimer

Last updated: April 3, 2026

Docly uses artificial intelligence to suggest CDT billing codes. All suggestions are for reference only and must be reviewed by a qualified dental billing professional before claim submission. Docly does not guarantee claim acceptance and is not responsible for denied or rejected claims.

How Docly Uses AI

Docly analyzes treatment notes using the Anthropic Claude large language model and cross-references suggestions against the ADA CDT code set. The AI identifies procedures described in the note and returns suggested codes with confidence ratings (HIGH, MEDIUM, LOW) and documentation flags.

Limitations of AI-Generated Codes

  • AI suggestions are based on the text provided and may not reflect the full clinical picture.
  • The AI may miss codes, suggest incorrect codes, or misinterpret ambiguous clinical language.
  • Confidence ratings (HIGH, MEDIUM, LOW) are estimates — even HIGH confidence codes must be verified.
  • Payer-specific rules, frequency limitations, and plan exclusions are not accounted for.
  • Documentation flags are reminders only — they do not guarantee a claim will be accepted with the flagged information present.

Your Responsibility

By using Docly, you agree that:

  • You will review all suggested codes against the original clinical documentation before submitting any claim.
  • A qualified dental billing professional is responsible for final code selection.
  • You will not submit patient-identifying information into the Service.
  • Docly is a productivity tool, not a replacement for professional billing judgment.

CDT Code Ownership

Current Dental Terminology (CDT) codes are owned by the American Dental Association (ADA). Docly references CDT codes to assist with billing workflow. Use of CDT codes within this tool does not imply endorsement by the ADA.

No Liability for Claim Outcomes

Docly and its operators are not responsible for denied claims, underpayments, audits, or compliance issues arising from the use of AI-generated code suggestions. All billing decisions remain the sole responsibility of the user.
